A grand celebration of school sports took place in Pune as Lokmat MahaGames honoured its state-level winners at an award ceremony attended by prominent leaders and sports icons. Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal felicitated the young achievers, applauding their commitment and passion for sports.
Presented by the Abhay Bhutada Foundation and organised by Lokmat Campus Club, Lokmat MahaGames has emerged as a powerful platform for encouraging sports participation among students across Maharashtra. The tournament covered 12 regions, bringing together young athletes from diverse backgrounds.
The event was graced by Dr. Vijay Darda, Chairman, Lokmat Media Group; Ruchira Darda, Director, Lokmat Campus Club; and Trupti Abhay Bhutada, Co-Founder, Abhay Bhutada Foundation. RJ Mantra hosted the evening, adding vibrancy through interactive discussions and student engagement.
With participation from over 2,500 schools and 50,000 students, the competition featured a wide range of sports including badminton, football, athletics, swimming, kho-kho, chess, archery, and fencing.
Cash prizes were awarded to schools with the highest medal tallies, encouraging healthy competition and excellence at the grassroots level.
