Yogi Adityanath extends greetings on university’s Foundation Day, praises its academic contributions
Lucknow, May 1 (H.S.): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday highlighted the legacy and academic excellence of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University (DDUGU) on the occasion of its Foundation Day, marking 75 years of its journey in higher education.
The Chief Minister underscored the university’s role as a major centre for talent development and research in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Established in 1956 and formally recognized in 1957, DDUGU has grown into one of the state’s prominent institutions contributing to academic and intellectual growth.
In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter), Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the university community, including teachers, students and staff.
“Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to all the teachers, students, and dedicated staff on the Foundation Day of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gorakhpur University. This university, as a result of the noble efforts of Mahant Digvijaynath Ji Maharaj, is today illuminating society with the light of modern and quality education, along with knowledge, values, and intellectual development,” he said.

The Chief Minister noted that the university has consistently upheld high standards in education while fostering research and innovation. He emphasized that DDUGU continues to play a vital role in shaping the future of students and strengthening the state’s higher education ecosystem.
He also paid tribute to the visionaries and contributors who have been part of the institution’s journey over the decades.
The university’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations mark a significant milestone, reflecting its long-standing commitment to quality education and societal development.
