Paranjape Schemes Construction Private Limited has announced a collaboration with Tarangan Foundation to strengthen the support framework for Swaniketan, a residential initiative designed exclusively for differently-abled individuals and their families. The project aims to create a safe and supportive living ecosystem focused on long-term care and community living.
Swaniketan is being developed under the Paranjape Special Projects Division (PSPD) and is planned as a purpose-built residential environment that combines private living spaces with specialised care infrastructure. The development will feature family apartments as well as assisted hostel accommodations.
The project will also include several community-focused facilities such as therapy centres, vocational training spaces, a daycare facility, recreational amenities, and trained caregiver support on every floor to assist residents.
Under the partnership, Tarangan Foundation will oversee the structured evaluation process for families interested in becoming part of the Swaniketan community. This process will include health assessments, psychosocial evaluations, family consultations, financial preparedness reviews, and legal guidance related to long-term care arrangements, including succession planning and trust structures.
Speaking about the initiative, Amit Paranjape, Director – Business Development at Paranjape Schemes Construction Private Limited, said the goal is to build a residential ecosystem that supports residents throughout their lives.
“Swaniketan is envisioned as a lifelong community that provides security, dignity, and continuity of care for differently-abled individuals and their families. A well-structured assessment process helps us understand the unique needs of each family and ensures the community is designed to provide sustainable support in the long term. Our collaboration with Tarangan Foundation brings valuable expertise in evaluation and care planning,” he said.
Beena Modak, Director of Tarangan Foundation, noted that many families worry about long-term care arrangements for their children with developmental needs.
“Parents often worry about the future of their children once they are no longer able to care for them. Swaniketan offers a reassuring solution by creating a dedicated residential community designed to provide ongoing support. Through this partnership, we will guide families through assessment, planning, and preparation to ensure residents can live in a secure and supportive environment,” she said.
The partnership adds an important layer of professional support and structured planning to the Swaniketan initiative. Developers say the response from families has been strong, with more than 200 families already participating in the screening process and over 75 families shortlisted during the initial stage of the project.
The project is expected to address a growing need in India for inclusive housing models that provide long-term stability, community support, and specialised care for differently-abled individuals.
