Yogi Adityanath cautions against risking lives for social media fame after recent incidents

Lucknow, May 4 (H.S.): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged young people to prioritise real-life safety over social media trends, warning against dangerous stunts performed for online attention.
The Chief Minister’s appeal comes in the wake of recent tragic incidents involving teenagers attempting to create reels, including a fatal case in Siddharthnagar where two youths lost their lives while filming a video.
‘Real Life Over Reel Life’
In a message shared on social media, Yogi Adityanath stressed that “real” life must always take precedence over “reel” life. He cautioned youngsters against engaging in risky activities on railway tracks, bridges, water tanks, and other hazardous locations merely for likes and views.
He encouraged youth to channel their creativity into safe and meaningful pursuits instead of imitating dangerous online trends.
Appeal to Parents
The Chief Minister also called on parents to remain vigilant about their children’s smartphone and social media usage. He advised them to guide youngsters toward using digital platforms for educational and constructive purposes rather than engaging in risky pranks.
Highlighting the need for discipline and awareness, Yogi Adityanath said that collective responsibility from both families and society is essential to prevent such avoidable tragedies.
