Party withdraws disciplinary action after internal deliberations

Bhubaneswar, May 4 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has revoked the suspension of former Balasore MP and senior leader Kharabela Swain, who was earlier suspended for alleged violation of party discipline.

Confirming the development, State Disciplinary Committee convenor Sudarshan Nayak said that the suspension order issued against Swain has been formally withdrawn following due organisational deliberations.

Background of Suspension

Kharabela Swain, a three-time Member of Parliament from the Balasore Lok Sabha constituency, had contested the previous election as an independent candidate after being denied a party ticket. The move led to disciplinary action by the party at the time.

With the revocation of his suspension, Swain is now back within the party fold, marking a significant organisational decision ahead of upcoming political developments in the state.
